The Gujarat government and education department is going to cross one more mile stone and create world wide history again in class room education. I came to know that…
- Approximately 20 lakh students and 30 thousand teachers will join in distance mode education - cyber class.
- The expert teachers will give lesson in BISAG and student will see in their school.
- Mathematics, English and Science and Technology will be taught as per schedule.
- GCERT is going to organize the whole progrramme.
- GCERT will select teachers, guide how to give modern lesson and how to use Teaching Learning Material and Modern Technology in education.
- Teachers and students will be select after teachers examination as per govt. norms.
- The teachers and students will get chance to visit places, get expose and knowledge of technology by giving lesson in BISAG ( Bhaskaracharya Institute for Space Application and Geo-informatics)
- All the teachers who studied in interior schools and far from city can get benefit of expert teachers and technology.
I think that there are few disadvantages also like…
- Student cannot get experience because the experiment will be done in student with selected students and teachers…The students in classroom have to see…exp.: they will see how to make Oxygen but cannot get real experiment by doing themselves. In Science until we don’t do our selves we cannot understand.
- In mathematics students should have know why it happen ? Why 1+1 is = 2 ?
- Gujarati students are poor in English. Teachers also cannot speak fluent English. In distance mode we cannot give chance students to speak.
- Teachers may not teach same lesson again in their class room.
- Students may see as they see other progrramme in Television.
- Student will go far from class room education of English, Mathematics and Science and Technology.
- Students can get Knowledge - Information but What about Application, Understanding and Skill ? Without Application, Understanding and Skill Knowledge is useless..
There are few way to reduce disadvantages :
- Can use On air Off air mode.
- In off air teachers have to teach and do activities in class room with their students.
- Students should discuss their problem with teachers and if teacher is unable to answer they can ask directly to expert in studio.
- Printed material-modules, TLMs, Activities material and guide book should be provide to all teachers so they can follow during on air and off air education mode.
