Gunotsav : Countdown started in primary school's to welcome and cellebrate

It was in last week newspaper that Mr Obama the Precedence of U.S.A announced big amount –fund to improve Primary education in U.S.A. The U.S.A understood the value of Primary Education. In his election speech Mr Obama said that he will try to give the highest salary to teacher. He also said that he respect teachers and don’t want to see them with lowest salary.

We proud that the Chief Minister of Gujarat Mr Narendrabhai Modi sir is far ahead than U.S. To improve education quality and level of Gujarat. The Gujarat Government and Education department going to celebrate GUNOTSAV in all primary schools in Gujarat on 12^th to 14^th November 2009. As I know it is going to happen first time in India that approximately 3000 thousand IAS, IPS, IFC officers and other government officers are going to visit approximately 9000 school out of approximately 32000 primary schools of Gujarat with special vision. They will check education of 20 students randomly in a class and give the grade to class teachers. They are also going to check schools in all dimensions like Physical- building and its use, Teaching Learning Material and its use, the relation with society-villagers-parents or different committees like Village Education Committee-Mother Teachers Association- Parents Teachers Association etc. Government is planning to evaluate all the schools of Gujarat and give the grade.

What should be next step??

After evaluate school if we leave school as it was before evaluation it is waste of time and fund. The advice-tips to correct error should be given to CRCc, BRCc, Education Inspector and DPEO. The DPEO should give time limit to school and then again evolution should be making by the same person. Government should honor best schools by giving certificate or trophy to motivate them and inspire others to follow the system. If the school, teachers or principle not performed as per norms the department should take steps.

For schools CRC Coordinator is the guide in each and every way. I am sorry to say that Coordinator works round the clock just to analysis data and send to BRC Coordinator. They work round the clock for others but don’t have time for class room. CRCCs are busy with data collection, distribute material and held functions. They held training but they don’t have knowledge or get training. So it’s my humble request to the Government to please built capacity of CRC Coordinator. They should enhance by giving training of Personality Development, Time Management, use of Modern Technology and Knowledge, Curriculum, Syllabus, Application, Understanding and Skill – KAUS for all subject. So they can guide students and teachers properly. Cluster Resource Center should be fully equipped- library, laboratory, Media, Internet etc.

To bring teachers quality up all school should follow ADEPTS. The performance standard shown in ADEPTS for teachers, CRCCs, BRCCs and other educational agencies are the need of society. ADEPTS the master key to improve level of school in all dimension.

Here are our humble request to the government of Gujarat and education department …,

· Gunotsav data should not be found in piles of files

· Remedial work must be done.

· In these 3 days approx 9000 schools will be evaluate. What about the other schools?

· All the schools which is not covered during Gunotsav will be evaluated in the second round…(In the end of the November)

· After Gunotsav all the rest schools should be evaluate by CRCs, BRCs, Education Inspectors inter block –the team should be from other taluka/block.

· This time all the CRCCo and BRCCo will be interchanged the districts with the same module…and collect the same info. From the schools.

· After evaluation of all schools a paper should be prepared according to the evaluation.

· The paper will contain the good/better/best things of visited schools!

· As well the paper will say the bad/worse and worst things which have noticed.

- If school get A rank then appreciates by certificates or trophy.

- If school get B then god and carry on task-suggestions.

- If school get C then need to improvement.

- And if D need training and proper way to do task.

· A hard copy of this type copy will be given to school, the coordinator of that cluster, the Education Inspector, the BRC, the DPEO.

· The paper will also have some suggestion to overcome their limits.

· A fix time line will be given to the school to improve some of the limits

· Basically the post of CRC has been come to place for Education Improvement, but today they all are busy with Figures, data, programmes, functions…etc.

· They all should have given opportunity as well as the responsibility to the remedy work in the schools under him/her.

· School grades, teacher’s grade and accountability of teachers should be fixing.

· The education department and grass root evaluator- CRCCs should develop system to improve grade and try to give academic support to teachers.

· In Maharastra Education department takes exam to give increment in salary…We can also make some changes like after taking 20 days training teachers has to submit certificates-they use training in class room and the certificates should be given by CRCC or Education Inspector who visit schools frequently then teachers get increment in salary. These all are hard step which are tuff to take because before action should provide academic support to teachers.

Now need not to worry for all above, Let’s proud of our government, education departments and related all officers that they have vision to see tomorrow- future and prepare us accordingly.
