છેલ્લા કેટલાંક દિવસોથી ગુજરાતીઓ અને ખાસ કરીને આઈ.તી ક્ષેત્ર ના ગુજરાતીઓ જેનું નામ રટ્યા કરે છે, એક એવો યુવાન કે જેને પોતાના દેશનું નાગરિકત્વ આપવા દુનિયાના બધાં વિકસિત દેશો પ્રયત્ન કરી રહ્યા છે, એક એવું વ્યક્તિત્વ જેને ગુજરાતના તમામ લોકો ગૌરવથી અમારો છે કહી શકે તે એટલે પ્રણવ મિસ્ત્રી. ગરવા ગુજરાતીઓનું ગૌરવ, વિશ્વકર્મા ભગવાન ના વંશજ એવા સામ પિત્રોડાએ ટેલીકોમ ક્ષેત્રે વિશ્વમાં પોતાણી ઓળખ ઉભી કરી ટેલીફોન સસ્તા અને ગરીબોના હાથ સુંધી પહોચાડ્યા , DOT શક્ય બનાવ્યું તો બીજા પનોતા પુત્ર પ્રણવ મિસ્ત્રીએ “સીક્ષ્થ સેન્સ” ની મદદ થી બનાવેલ ડીવાઇસ આજે વિશ્વને નવી દિશા આપશે.મેં સમ્ભાલ્યું છે તે મુજબ પ્રણવભાઈ પાલનપુર વિદ્યામંદિર ના વિદ્યાર્થી. બારમાં ધોરણમાં ઓછા માર્ક્સ આવતા નીરમા ઇન્સ્ટીટ્યુટમાં bachelors degree in Computer Science and Engineering નો અભ્યાસ કરી અમેરિકા અભ્યાસ અર્થે ગયા. અને ત્યાં જઈ આઈટી ક્ષેત્રે વિશ્વને આપી એક એવી શોધ જેના વિશે કોઈ વિચારી પણ ન શકે....જોકે આપણી પરિક્ષા પદ્ધતિમાં ઓછા માર્ક્સ સાથે પાસ થનાર (સામાન્ય વિદ્યાર્થી માટે સમાજ ઠોઠ નિશાળીયો પણ કહે છે...કહેવાતા આ ઠોઠ નીશાલીયાએ વિશ્વના બુદ્ધિજીવીઓ અને મોટા ગજાના વૈજ્ઞાનિકોને ઠોઠ બનાવી દીધા..) પેમેન્ટ શીટ (ઓછા માર્ક્સ વાળા વિદ્યાર્થીને પેમેન્ટ શીટ નો સહારો લેવો પડે છે)માં પ્રવેશ મેળવી ઈજનેર બની અમેરિકા જનાર લબરમૂછીયો યુવાન ગજા બહારનું કામ કરે ત્યારે આનંદ અને ગૌરાવતો થાયજ પણ આપણી પરિક્ષા-મૂલ્યાંકન પદ્ધતિ વિશે વિચારતાં “સાલું લાગી આવે છે...” ગરવા ગુજરાતના ગરવા પ્રણવભાઈ વિશે આપણા વિદ્યાર્થીઓને જાણવાથી તેમની સક્સેસ સ્ટોરી કહેવાથી કદાચ આવા બીજા પ્રણવભાઈ ગુજરાતને આપી શકીએ.અહી આપને માટે તેમની વેબ સાઈડના કેટલાંક અંશ આપને માટે લીંક સાથે આપેલ છે...આપ જરૂર મુલાકાત લેશો... એક સરળ, સાલસ અને સૌમ્ય વ્યક્તિત્વ ધરાવનાર લાખો યુવાનોના રોલ મોડલ એવા પ્રણવભાઈની વેબ સાઈડમાં જણાવ્યા મુજબ તેમના જ શબ્દોમાં તેમના વિશે સાંભળીયે તો ...

Currently, I am a Research Assistant and PhD candidate at the MIT Media Lab. Before joining MIT I worked as a UX Researcher with Microsoft. I received my Master in Media Arts and Sciences from MIT and Master of Design from IIT Bombay. I have completed my bachelors degree in Computer Science and Engineering. Palanpur is my hometown, which is situated in northern Gujarat in India.

Exposure to fields like Design to Technology and from Art to Psychology gave me a quite nice/interesting viewpoint to the world. I love to see technology from design perspective and vice versa. This vision reflects in almost all of my projects and research work as well. in short, I do what I love and I love what I do. I am a 'Desigineer'.

From my engineering in computer science to my masters in design I worked on a varied fields like interaction design, robotics, computer graphics, HCI, AI, information graphics, Embedded systems, social computing, … and the list goes on. SixthSense / WUW - Wear Ur World

'SixthSense' is a wearable gestural interface that augments the physical world around us with digital information and lets us use natural hand gestures to interact with that information. By using a camera and a tiny projector mounted in a pendant like wearable device, 'SixthSense' sees what you see and visually augments any surfaces or objects we are interacting with. It projects information onto surfaces, walls, and physical objects around us, and lets us interact with the projected information through natural hand gestures, arm movements, or our interaction with the object itself. 'SixthSense' attempts to free information from its confines by seamlessly integrating it with reality, and thus making the entire world your computer.
