We are agree or disagree but it is fact that from the day Sri Modisir announced GUNOTSAV teachers have fear. The major problem teacher’s faces of poor presence of students in class room and students don’t know reading, writing and basic mathematics sums in some schools-classes. There are many reasons and we all are involved also in these problems. We will talk latter on this subject. Now let me say that I came to know that teachers were not gone on diwali vacation. They opened schools before the holidays complete. Many teachers use to go students house to give them free tuition so when team comes for class evaluation their class should not saw in law grade. Many schools arraigned barber to cut all students hair. Government-SarvaShixa Abhiyan Misson gives thousand of rupees to maintain and make everything professionally but there were many schools-compound walls colored after a decades. Schools were cleaned by teachers, arraigned-kept everything properly. In brief, if I say: Schools became schools (Vidhya Bhavan) in real mean.
Few people say that teachers are not doing anything, how can we blame until we don’t know teacher’s problem ?….Teachers are working round the clock…What kind of problem our teacher faces, let’s see at a glance.
- How can a teacher work with 50-80 students alone in a class?
- How can 2-3 teachers work as per teachers hand books and as per training in all std. 1st to 7th. They may have few students, but if there is single student or more but they have to follow all activities-same time.
- Teachers have to do clerical works, Books –other material distribution, Scholarships work, construction work, survey, and coordination with villagers, meetings, training and many more work which keep teachers out of class.
- Teacher is alone and we try to make him jack of all by giving Gender education training, Activity base learning training, Alternative Learning Centers Training , Subject training, IED Training, project based training, DIETs training – programmes, NGO’s training and many more. They all have their own acceptance from teachers.
What kind of support-help we the primary school's teachers want from government of Gujarat to enhance education quality?
- There should no training more than 20 days as per SSAM norms. All the subject-activities and programmes should covered in these 20 days.
- Students Teachers ratio should be change and minimum a teacher should be separately for a class let it b there 1 students to 30 students…or whatever ratio Gov. decide.
- Every schools should have a clerk for data –administrative work ( Gram mitra shixan can be use as friend –clerk of school ).There should be clerk and peon in pay center schools. Principles designation should be separately.
- Teacher should not use for any kind of administrative work like salary and other Taluka & School level work.
- Vidhyasahayak salary should increase from Rs.2500/- per month. Chhattisgarh is small and new state and it pay Rs,5800/-per month for 3 years after 3 years they comes in regular grade. But in Gujarat since 1998 it is Rs.2500/- for five years. Is it possible to survive in this kinetic life?
- No other work than class room teaching for teachers.
- There should be strict rules for parents to send their child school regularly.
- Accountability should be fix for Teachers to all upper officers.
